Top 3 Benefits of Having a Workplace Mindfulness Program

Could your sequestered employees use a little extra support during these strange times?

A workplace mindfulness program can improve the happiness and wellbeing of your employees - which is always good for productivity, engagement, and retention.

I know this because my evolving mindfulness practice has been one of the most powerful stress management tools I’ve nurtured over the years as I run a growing business. It has allowed me to build my resilience and sense of wellbeing.

In a world looking for ways to holistically improve health and performance, (or frankly, just stay sane), mindfulness offers a free solution to tap into our natural design and innate ability to self-regulate for improved performance.

And... Yep.... No pills necessary...all you need is pause to breathe.

First, let's take a quick second to talk about what “mindfulness”is, anyway.

Simply put, mindfulness is a technique in which one focuses their full attention only on the present, experiencing their full range of thoughts, feelings, and sensations, but not judging them.

In my humble opinion, mindfulness is more instrumental in nurturing healthy, positive connections (with self and others) and promoting a sense of "happiness" than smartphones or Facebook will ever be.

It’s the antidote to stress, social media, and it’s negative effects in our lives. And mindfulness is a key practice for leaders, and humans in general, to achieve next-level actualization, performance, and wellbeing.

Here are the top three benefits of having a mindfulness program for your employees:

  • Improved Mental and Emotional Health

Regular mindfulness practices can boost mental wellbeing and emotional intelligence.

  • Greater Focus and Productivity

Organizations with workplace mindfulness programs tend to see improved focus and productivity among those who regularly practice.

  • Enhanced Self-Awareness and Resilience

Mindfulness practices boost self-awareness and help you become more resilient and less reactionary.
